Join us at The Mercury Cafe at 7:30 PM Tuesday June 27! Dakota Yaffe will host, and featured reader D.E. Fulford will share her work. Plus, 4-minute open mic spots available on a first-come, first-served basis for all who wish to share their own flash fiction. Please join us if you can! We suggest a $5 donation to help off-set venue costs, but no one will be turned away.
Since both our host and featured reader are motorcycle riders, we encourage readers to explore the theme of paths or distance (though all work is welcome, regardless of theme).

HOST DAKOTA YAFFE is a lover of the human need for connection, even if she’s too ornery to admit it. A poet, a giant nerd and endlessly fascinated by all things with wheels. Her writing is somewhere between and often both maniacal musings and heart felt pleas for those on the outskirts of society. She is passionate about issues such as mental health, gender, religion and love. She can generally be found on her motorcycle or working on cars. She has ridden solo across the country multiple times on an old Harley she built and takes any chance to disappear into the far reaches of the world. Her writing can be found on https://theunicornandthemonster.wordpress.com/ or on Instagram @theunicornandthemonster

FEATURED READER d. e. fulford is a writer, editorial director, and English instructor. She has a Doctor of Education and masters degrees in both creative writing and education. Her poetry chapbook, southern atheist: oh, honey, is available from Cathexis Northwest Press. Other poems and lyrical essays can be found in The Dead Mule School of Southern Literature, Longridge Review, Blood Pudding Press, Indolent Books, Dreamers Magazine, Crosswinds Poetry Journal, Sunspot Literary Journal, and many more. She resides on the front range of the Rocky Mountains with her partner Levi and their chocolate Labrador, The Walrus. In her spare time, she can be found riding her Triumph Street Twin motorbike, attending live music shows, and advocating for conversations about topics that make us squirm.
