Host Hillary Leftwich! Hillary Leftwich grew up in Colorado Springs where Focus on the Family reigns supreme and Ted Haggard is currently hiding in his closet. Still. She survived Christian school where brainwashed fanatical classmates failed to save her soul and forced her to play Satan in the school play. Her English teacher accused her of practicing witchcraft (true) and playing Dungeons and Dragons during lunch when really all she was doing was listening to The Melvins and writing strange stories that made her classmates feel “weird.” She later won the Colorado Young Writers Award and felt vindicated. She is co-host for At the Inkwell Denver and recently graduated with her MFA from Regis University. Her first book is forthcoming from Civil Coping Mechanisms (CCM) in 2019.
Featuring Erika T. Wurth! Erika T. Wurth’s publications include a novel, Crazy Horse’s Girlfriend, two collections of poetry and a collection of short stories, Buckskin Cocaine. Her novel You Who Enter Here is forthcoming from SUNY. A writer of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, she teaches creative writing at Western Illinois University and has been a guest writer at the Institute of American Indian Arts. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in numerous journals including Boulevard, Drunken Boat, The Writer’s Chronicle, Waxwing and The Kenyon Review. She is represented by Peter Steinberg. She is Apache/Chickasaw/Cherokee and was raised outside of Denver.
Featuring Jay Halsey! Jay Halsey’s poems and photos have been published online and in print. He has held three featured art openings along the Front Range and his performances include reading for Don’t Yell at Me, At the Inkwell Denver, Punketry, and The Wilder Variety Hour. His photography has been used as covers for three poetry collections and featured in fundraising campaigns for the Rocky Mountain Land Library in Fairplay, Colorado. At 19 years old he flipped his junker Camaro into a crowded gas station after crossing into oncoming traffic, climbed out unscathed, then went home and climbed into bed. Since then he’s worked as a champion for those worse off than he, explored and recorded desolate places absent of people, and written of times bad and good and everything in between.

Host Stina French! Stina French hails from North Carolina, and if you look closely, you can still see the welts from the Bible Belt. After a stint in San Francisco, she joined the faculty of Red Rocks Community College in the Denver area. She is working on a mystery novel, Mistress Immaculate’s Murder Most Mildew, a magic-realist memoir-as-revision of the Biblical Flood story, and has a finished hybrid/experimental collection of pieces called Hope You Like Dick: An Erotic, Creative, Choose-An-Adventure Flash Memoir. She has featured at the Podeo, F-Bomb, At The Inkwell, The Running of the Gays, and Punketry. Her work has appeared in Punch Drunk Press. She squeals like a pig and she means it. Featuring Brice Maiurro! Brice Maiurro is a Denver poet and organizer of events on the Front Range. Through his publishing company, Punch Drunk Press, he hosts several events around the city including Punketry! (in association with ALOC Media and Black Market Translation) and Punch Drunk Showcase, both of which operate out of Mutiny Info Café. His newest series, Beet Poetry, premiered this October at the Corner Beet in Cap Hill. Brice’s first collection of poems, Stupid Flowers, was released in June of 2017. He is currently working on his follow-up collection as well as a collection of short stories. He has performed widely at venues throughout the state of Colorado, including features at The Fox Theater, The Laughing Goat, Bouldering Poets, and Don’t Yell at Me. His writing has been featured by Birdy Magazine, The Lune, The Denver Post, The Denver Poetry Map and many other literary outlets. He has worked closely with local activist groups such as Denver Artists for Rent Control and the Denver Micro Suites. He hates the awkward silence while waiting for a debit card to process.

He’s been a finalist in the Best Small Fictions, the Wigleaf Top 50, the Bath Flash Fiction Award, and he won a travel toothbrush once at a boules competition in northern Brittany. Originally from the UK, he lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Host Jonathan Montgomery! Jonathan Montgomery was born in 1980 in Akron, Ohio. He’s a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and Naropa University and the author of four books of poetry/stories including Taxis & Shit (’09) and Pizzas and Mermaid (’14). He lives in Boulder, Colorado and teaches English at Front Range Community College. This is his third time hosting the FBomb reading.

Their work has appeared in more publications, has received more awards, has sold more copies, has pleased more critics, and has generally moved the progress of humanity further forward. It is not certain yet which FRCC English Faculty will be featuring at this event, but it is clear even if they choose their most inferior members they will still be better than the best of any other local community college English faculty. Featuring Carol Covington! Carol Covington is a student at the Community College of Denver, pursuing a degree in English Literature with an emphasis in African American Literature. She is a mother and grandmother who has been featured at the Prodigy Coffeehouse, and the Inkwell BookBar. She recently won 1st place in a digital writing contest for her poem “Hot Hair”, and was featured during Poetry Month in the Auraria campus library. Carol grew up in Germany during the 60’s and California in the 70’s. She loves all things nostalgic and believes that life begins when you decide to live it.

Featuring Ahja Fox! Ahja Fox currently resides in Saddle Rock with her husband and her baby cousin whom she considers her own. She recently graduated from Arapahoe Community College with an A.A with Creative Writing Emphasis. When attending ACC, she acted as Writer’s Studio Student Club President for four semesters and also received the 2016 Writer’s Studio Scholarship. Right before graduating, she received her first publication in the Arapahoe Pinnacle and then gained publication right after in the 2017 Progenitor Art & Literary Journal. Now that she is graduated, she is a co-partner/co-host for Art of Storytelling and is working on a collaboration with her artist husband. Ahja’s long-term goals are to publish in various writing sources, finish producing at least one book draft, and to open a dance studio that caters to children and the disabled.
Host Roseanna Frechette is a longtime member of Denver’s thriving creative arts community. Former publisher of Rosebud Forum magazine, she has great passion for the power of small press and the beauty of spoken word. Her performance poetry has been showcased in a variety of regional venues including Arise Music Festival, Sparrows Poetry Festival, The Festival of Imagination, and Boulder Fringe Festival as well as public television and radio. She is a frequent guest host for Mercury Café’s Jam Before the Slam and a respected participant in the open mic scenes of Denver and Boulder. Interpretive dancer and yogi as well as storyteller and poet, Roseanna’s integrative style reflects both a respectful love of nature and a bohemian appreciation for urban culture. Her performances and presentations are vibrant and dynamic, as she allows her voice to be heard through story, song, and poems ever changing.

Monique Antonette Lewis is the founder of At The Inkwell, a New York City-based organization that supports published authors through book reviews, author interviews and readings. The reading series is hosted across Denver, New York, Richmond, San Francisco, Seattle and London.She is also an annual reader for the James Jones First Novel Fellowship. Monique has more than a decade of journalism experience and received her MFA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University, and a B.A. in Journalism from Colorado State University.
