All shows begin at 7:30 at The Mercury Cafe, 2199 California Street, Denver.
Host Roseanna Frechette! Roseanna Frechette is a longtime member of Denver’s thriving bohemian underground. Her dynamic approach to the art of living blends inspiration of primal nature with deep respect for urban culture, including activism to save the character of this town she loves. She founded Denver Artists for Rent Control in 2016 and that same year was named one of Westword’s “100 Colorado Creatives.” Roseanna is in love with words: Written, spoken, published or not… It’s all about words on page and energy on stage. Her fiction, essays, and poetry have appeared on the pages of many a small press publication. Featured in a range of venues including rock shows, public TV, art & poetry festivals, she has great passion for the beauty of spoken word delivered… live.
Featuring Carolyn Reed! Carolyn Reed was a founding member of the Denver Union of Street Poets back in 1980 and at that time helped initiate poetry readings at the Mercury Café. In 1983 she appeared in an award-winning, nationally-aired video, Street Poets by Stone River Productions, and in 1987 she published a book of poems, Maze Bright, by Bread and Butter Press. She has since read and been featured at numerous readings in Denver. Carolyn is the mother of three brilliant adult children and a grandma. She has degrees in English and Journalism.
Featuring Jamey Trotter!
“Come watch Jamey Trotter run from his demons, or maybe he’ll just invite them on the stage for the show. Either way, at least this place has beer.”
